The Help by Kathryn Stockett listed as one of the most popular reads of 2010 as determined by book group reports. As I keep records, turns out it also topped as the most read choice for library book groups in Maine.
Three southern women, a recent college graduate, a maid and the maid's friend come together in a clandestine move to cross society's barriers in a time on the brink of the civil rights era. Three ordinary women make an extraordinary difference.

Book Discussion: Songbird Journeys: Four Seasons in the Lives of Migratory Birds, by Miyoko Chu
Each spring, millions of orioles, tanagers, thrushes, warblers and other songbirds travel thousands of miles from the tropics to their summer breeding grounds as far north as the boreal forests of Canada and in the fall return south. Navigating by the stars, magnetic fields and polarized light patterns, the birds make amazing journeys at night, flying in huge flocks that most of us never see.
