:: Newcomers are always welcome ::        Our Lit Chick Book Group is the library's more traditional book group.  Led by Maggie, one of our wonderful reference librarians, the group meets the first Tuesday of every month at 2:00 pm.  All the reads are chosen by Maggie and lean toward contemporary and literary fiction.  She is very conscious of providing members of the group with shorter reads that also have interesting topic matters to discuss at the meetings. Please be aware that participants are not limited to females, but the book selections may be decidedly feminine.  Like the services of the Library, this program is FREE to anyone living in Maine.

2012 Festival Dates Announced

Mark your calendars! The Bangor Book Festival returns for its sixth year on October 19 & 20, 2012, bringing Maine and Maine-connected writers of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and children’s books to Downtown Bangor. Writers and illustrators will read and discuss their work, and will meet and talk with readers, writers, and book fans.
We’re honored that last year’s festival a was highlighted in this great article in last Sunday’s Boston Globe. Stay tuned  for more announcements on this year’s Bangor Book Festival.
